What happens next
Making the State fossil emblem official involves a number of Parliamentary processes.
After nominations close, the Queensland Government will review the nominations received, make an endorsement, and the Emblems of Queensland Act 2005 will be updated to include our new State fossil emblem.
The State fossil emblem will then join our nine other official emblems – the Coat of Arms, State badge, State flag, Aquatic emblem, Fauna emblem, Bird emblem, Floral emblem, State gem and State colour.
Once the new State fossil emblem has been formally decided and announced, this information will be emailed to everyone who nominated, posted on this website, and added to our Queensland Government social media channels, so keep an eye out and follow Queensland Government Facebook!
